Dayanara Torres Biography

Dayanara Torres Delgado (born on October 28, 1974 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model and former Miss Universe.

At age 17, Torres was approached while walking through the Plaza de Toa Alta in her hometown and was subsequently invited to represent Toa Alta in the annual Miss Puerto Rico Pageant. She won the pageant and the rights to represent Puerto Rico at the 1993 Miss Universe pageant. Previously in 1992, she had participated in the Miss International pageant, where she placed among the semi-finalists, and placed second in the Queen of the World contest.

The Miss Universe pageant was held in Mexico City in May 21, 1993 and Torres won the crown. Torres's victory in the pageant caused some controversy because it was claimed she was still a minor. However, Torres had turned 18 several months before the contest. Her victory also raised some eyebrows as she won neither the preliminary round nor the semifinals. Torres anara was received in Puerto Rico with a massive parade.

During and after her reign, she became an ambassador of UNICEF, traveling through Asia and Latin America in support of the organization. She even created the Dayanara Torres Foundation which provided scholarships to poor students in Puerto Rico and the Philippines. In 1994 she went to Manila to crown the new Miss Universe. During the ceremony, she sang "A Whole New World" as a duet with Peabo Bryson.

After the 1994 Miss Universe pageant, Dayanara Torresreceived offers to endorse products, appear on television programs, and act in movies. She lived in the Philippines for five years, becoming a celebrity in the country. She also appeared in more than 10 movies, including a film with Filipino actor and singer Gary Valenciano called "Hataw Na." During that time, she also filmed Linda Sara, a Puerto Rican film directed by Jacobo Morales where she was paired with fellow Puerto Rican singer, Chayanne. The film was released in 1994. She also became a staple figure on Philippine television every Sunday on the show "ASAP", which gave her the title "Dancing Queen" because of her impressive dancing skills.

During her time in the Philippines, she had a relationship with Filipino superstar actor Aga Muhlach. (Muhlach is now married to Charlene Gonzalez, Miss Philippines-Universe 1994.) Torres and Aga first met each other on the set of her first Philippine movie, Basta't Kasama Kita (As Long As I'm With You). Their relationship lasted four years. She also learned Tagalog, the main language of the country.

She returned to Puerto Rico in 1998 and released her first album (and only one, as of now) called Antifaz. It reached the top of the Billboard charts through Latin America and the Philippines. She also starred in several theater productions in the island. That same year, a "Dayanara" doll was released and sold out in the island and in the Philippines.

Dayanara Torres married singer Marc Anthony on 9 May 2000 in Las Vegas. They have two sons, Christian Anthony Muñiz (5 February 2001) and Ryan Anthony Muñiz (16 August 2003). It was a rocky marriage, and they separated in summer 2002. They later reconciled and renewed their vows in a spectacular ceremony held in Puerto Rico in December of 2002. In 2003, a Miami waitress filed paternity charges against Anthony; multiple DNA-tests, the last in August 2004, disproved her claims. The couple's final separation was in October 2003. Torres filed for divorce in January 2004.

As the divorce proceeded, Anthony was seen out with actress-singer Jennifer Lopez, a long-time friend he had worked with in music videos. They had briefly dated in the late '90s, before his first marriage and her second one. Lopez and Anthony were recording a duet together in early 2004, for Lopez's then-upcoming film Shall We Dance? Lopez and Anthony married in a quiet home wedding on June 5, 2004, less than a week after his divorce from Torres was finalized on June 1. The media, however, was tipped off that morning of the wedding, and circled Lopez's backyard in helicopters. Photographs, alerting the rest of the world, soon followed. Reports fueled rumors that Lopez was pregnant but this was not the case.

On September 1 of 2005, she debuted in an American soap opera, playing a small role in The Young and The Restless. The programs producers expressed an interest in future appearances, though Torres, to date, has not reappeared on the program.

On March 6, 2006, Dayanara Torres had emergency surgery in New York, to correct an intestinal obstruction that was detected after she had felt pain during a flight from Los Angeles the day before.

Daria Werbowy

Daria Werbowy pictures
Daria Werbowy Biography
Daria Werbowy is a popular Canadian model of Ukrainian descent. Although born in Poland, Werbowy holds Ukrainian citizenship. When she was three years old, Werbowy's Ukrainian parents moved to Mississauga, a suburb west of Toronto, Canada. At age fourteen, Werbowy was 5'11", willowy and sporting braces. She attended Cawthra Park Secondary School. She was once romantically linked to actor Josh Hartnett.

Daria Werbowy had never seriously considered modeling, but found herself launched into the business after meeting a schoolmate's mother who headed Toronto's Susan J.Model & Talent Management. At age 14, Werbowy won a national modelling contest, but after a year of working with Susan J. Model & Talent, however, Werbowy thought she could be doing more with another agency and left.

After switching over to Elite Models, Werbowy began landing several prominent bookings in Canada but still had not achieved much international success. When Elite Canada's head scout, Elmer Olsen, started his own agency Werbowy followed and her career began to flourish. Within a few years, and under the guidance of International Management Group (IMG), Werbowy had gained a foothold on the international modelling stage. Daria plans to quit the industry when she turns 25, to become a professional painter, or to open her own gallery, back home in Mississauga, Ontario.

Though she relinquished the world's No.1 runway model status to new "it girls", Werbowy holds the record for opening and closing the most shows in one season. To date, Werbowy's clients have included Lancôme, Prada, Yves Saint-Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Hermès, Valentino, David Yurman, Missoni, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, altogether she has posed on 21 covers of Vogue (magazine). In her first season, Fall/Winter 2003, Werbowy captured two of the modeling worlds most coveted assignments: the cover of Vogue Italia, thrice (in July, August and October); and Prada's Fall/Winter ad campaign.

In July 2007, Forbes listed Werbowy as the ninth highest-earning model in the world after Karolina Kurkova, Natalia Vodianova, Carolyn Murphy, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen. Her earnings between June 2006 and June 2007 were in the order of $3.5 million.

Danielle Lloyd

Danielle Lloyd Picture
Danielle Lloyd (born 16 December 1983, Liverpool) is an English lingerie and glamour model, and former Miss England (2004).

She was stripped of her title of Miss Great Britain 2006 after posing for nude pictures featured in the December 2006 of Playboy magazine, and her tabloid-alleged affair with one of the judges, her footballer boyfriend at that time Teddy Sheringham. As a participant in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother, Lloyd, along with others, was accused of using bullying tactics and making racist comments directed against the Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. According to reports from the tabloid News of the World, Sheringham has decided to end his relationship with Lloyd as a result of her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

Danielle Lloyd was born in Penny Lane, Liverpool in 1983. Her parents, Jackie and Arthur Lloyd, work as a bank manager and an engineer, respectively. At the age of 3 months, Lloyd contracted whooping cough, resulting in damage to her lungs. This led to her developing asthma.

The headmaster of Lloyd's old school, St Hilda’s, Chris Yates said: "There’s no recollection of her ever being persecuted and no teacher can ever recall any incidents where Danielle was bullied. In fact I’ve been lead to believe by her former friends that the opposite is true."

On November 2, 2006, she was stripped of her title “following recent claims in the press and magazines and the publicity given on the Playboy Web site for their next issue", according to the MissGreat Britain website. The claim they were referring to was that Lloyd had been dating Teddy Sheringham, who was one of the judges of the pageant, for more than two months before her victory. This was reported by the media after she allegedly said in an interview that Sheringham bought her a pair of shoes for Christmas. Lloyd continues to claim that the relationship started after the pageant, and that the interview was made up. She attributes her topless shoot for the December 2006 issue of Playboy as the primary reason for the loss of her title.

On 11 January 2007 it was revealed that Lloyd was being sued by the Miss Great Britain company for breaking her contract and bringing the company into disrepute. The company is asking for full revelation of the sums she earned for the Playboy pictures, plus costs.

Lloyd made a memorable appearance on BBC One's Test the Nation. When asked "Who was Winston Churchill - a rapper, US President, the PM or King?", Lloyd answered "Wasn't he the first black president of America? There's a statue of him near me - that's black."

Lloyd has recently appeared in FHM and Maxim magazines and before the Big Brother racism row wrote a column for celebrityspotlight.co.uk.

Lloyd was the second housemate to enter the Big Brother House, and had amongst her possessions a blue teddy bear doused in Sheringham's aftershave.

Lloyd garnered significant negative publicity when thousands of complaints were filed with Ofcom after she, Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara, dubbed "The Witches (or Bitches) of Elstree" were accused of bullying and making racist remarks towards their fellow house mate, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

This behaviour also created an international outcry gaining heavy coverage in the Indian media. Gordon Brown, the British Chancellor of the Exchequer visiting India at the time, condemned the programme on the grounds that he is against anything which might damage the perception that the United Kingdom is a country of tolerance. In a statement on January 17 Channel 4 defended the programme against charges "of overt racism or racial abuse".

Lloyd's aunt directly accused her of racism, adding "It was disgusting the way Danielle treated Shilpa. I'm surprised Big Brother didn't throw her out of the house."

A newspaper interview made before Celebrity Big Brother, from November 2006, revealed Lloyd's anti-immigration views: "If I was (a politician), I'd get more people into work and stop people coming into the country. There's so many people who come into England because they know they can get benefits. People who already live here should get the jobs".

Lloyd’s mother said in the News of the World that her family has been “destroyed” by the racist row: "Danielle is at the start of her career and facing ruin because of a TV show that she thought was going to be entertaining and fun. Everything's been taken away from her as well. It has destroyed the family. I'm regretting she went in. Danielle has got a lot of questions to answer when she gets out." She denied her daughter was a racist, claiming: "She will be distraught but she's got to take responsibility. She's been stupid and naive and she's guilty of that (but) I know she didn't mean any racial connotations when she told Shilpa to go home. Danielle's been brought up amongst family friends of all different races. I swear she isn't racist."

Danielle has agreed in an attempt to revive her popularity to go on a 'date' with a competition winner. The Daily Star in promoting the article discusses how she wears 'plunging vest top and miniskirt.' when on a date and will willingly attend at any public house of the entrant's choice.

Danielle Lloyd helped open a mobile phone safety campaign after her own mobile was stolen in a Liverpool club. The Keep It Safe & Secure campaign, backed by the National Mobile Phone Crime Unit encourages mobile users to take greater safety precautions when using their phone.

Deni Hines

Deni Hines Picture
Deni Hines Biography

Dohnyale "Deni" Sharon Hines (born September 4, 1970 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian R&B singer, and is the daughter of singer Marcia Hines.

Hines released her first single with the Australian band Rockmelons with the a cover version of the Bill Withers 1971 hit "Ain't No Sunshine". She then went to release solo material with the top ten single "It's Alright" and the top twenty album Imagination (1996) which clocked in sales over 2.5 million copies worldwide. Her latest album is titled Water for Chocolate which was released on August 19, 2006 and features the singles "Water for Chocolate", "Son of a Preacher Man" and "5 Days of Rain".

Deni Hines grew up in Australia and was inspired by her mother's success as a singer to follow a career in show business. She was discovered by a friend when she was singing to the radio and then was encouraged to pursue singing as a career. Her earliest employment was as a backing vocalist for such artists as Kylie Minogue (her Rhythm of Love Tour, Australia and Far East 1991), Jimmy Barnes, Wa Wa Nee and Peter Blakeley before she was approached by the band Rockmelons to provide vocals for several of their songs. The first song that Hines released with the Rockmelons collaboration was a cover version of the Bill Withers 70's hit "Ain't No Sunshine" in 1991. The song proved to be a success charting at number five on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. With the success of the first single, the reggae-inspired "That Word (L.O.V.E.)" was the second song released with the collaboration and became another top five single, charting at number four in Australia. The third and final song Hines released with the band was the ballad "It's Not Over". The song was also a success but was not as big as the previous two, charting at number fifteen in Australia. With the success with the Rockmelons, Hines became one of the most well known faces, and voices, in Australia.

After three hit singles with the Rockmelons, Hines was signed to Mushroom Records and released her first solo single "It's Alright" in 1995. It was a contemporary dance track that contrasted sharply with her earlier Rockmelons performances, and it became one of the year's biggest hits in Australia charting at number four on the Australian ARIA Singles Charts and winning an ARIA Award award for "Breakthrough Artist - Single". "Imagination", the second song released solo by Hines was released at the beginning of 1996 and was not as successful as "It's Alright" only peaking at number thirty-seven. With two songs released from the album, Hines released her debut album Imagination on May 25, 1996 and became a hit, charting at number fifteen on the Australia ARIA Albums Chart and was nominated for two ARIA Awards; "Breakthrough Artist - Album" and "Best Female Artist". "I Like the Way" and "I'm Not in Love" (a cover version of a 10cc' song) were the album's third and fourth singles but both failed to chart in to top fifty in Australia. Even though "I'm Not in Love" failed to make an impact on the charts, it nominated Hines for two ARIA Awards for "Best Pop Release" and "Best Female Artist". Imagination was also released in Japan on July 24, 1996 and had sales of 300,000 copies, making the total sales of 2.5 million worldwide.

In order to properly promote her album properly, Hines moved to the UK in 1997 and re-issued her album under the title Pay Attention and toured withLighthouse Family and Earth, Wind & Fire. "It's Alright" was released in the United Kingdom in 1997 and was received well peaking at number thirty-five on the singles chart. The track also managed to peak at number twenty-two in France. Further hits such as "I Like the Way", "Joy" and "Delicious" followed, however, her career quickly lost its impetus after her album Pay Attention failed to impact the charts. In 1998, Hines cracked the U.S. market on the dance charts with "Joy" and "I Like the Way" both peaking in the top twenty of the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. Hines released an album of remixed songs from her Imagination and Pay Attention albums on July 14, 1998, titled Remix Your Imagination. This album failed to break into any charts around the world but the song "Dream Your Dream" from the album managed to chart in Japan.

In 2000, Hines did a cover version of the Grace Jones song "Pull Up to the Bumper" for the soundtrack for 2000 Australian film The Wog Boy. 2002 saw Hines released a "Greatest Hits" album ("A Delicious Collection") based on contractual commitments with her then record company Festival Mushroom. In 2003 she spent time in France working with Hip Hop artist I:AM writing and recording for his album in addition to co-writing a track "Welcome" of which Beyonce Knowles vocalled for I:AM's release.

Devon Aoki

Devon Aoki Wallpaper
Aoki was born in New York City and grew up in California, attending The American School in London in Westminster. Her Japanese American father, Rocky Aoki, a former Olympic wrestler, is the owner and founder of the Benihana restaurant chain. Her mother, Pamela Hilburger, is a jewelery designer of English and German heritage. Her brother, Steve Aoki, is a well-known Los Angeles, California DJ, and is the founder of the Dim Mak Records. Devon also has a sister and half brother Cole Price.

Aoki was discovered in New York at a Rancid concert she had gatecrashed. She started modeling when she was 13, the same year Aoki was introduced to supermodel Kate Moss by her godmother who would later take the young Devon under her wing. It wasn't much later that Devon signed onto Storm Model Management at the tender age of 14. In 1998, Devon replaced Naomi Campbell as the face of Versace.

Aoki has told: "And then I guess from being in New York, I did this photograph for Interview Magazine called "Lovely Rita." My agency says that Kate Moss brought the picture in and told them that they should, you know, sign me. And then it happened, and then in my early career we did a lot of jobs together. She was a big help to me when I first started".

She has modeled for the fashion houses Lancôme, Chanel, and Versace. Aoki is 5 ft 6 in (168cm, according to celebheights.com) — an almost unheard of height for runway models, who are usually at least 5 ft 8 in tall. She has done ad campaigns for: Chanel Couture by Karl Lagerfeld, Versace Atelier by Steven Meisel, Junko Shimada by Bettina Kimenda and Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons

Early on in her career Aoki made cameo appearances in several music videos, including Duran Duran's "Electric Barbarella", Primal Scream's "Kowalski" (With Kate Moss), Elton John's "Something About The Way You Look Tonight", Ginuwine's "In Those Jeans" video and, later, in Ludacris's "Act a Fool". Music from this video was featured in the soundtrack of 2 Fast 2 Furious, which Ludacris and Aoki both appeared in. In 2006, she made an appearance in The Killers's video "Bones". Aoki has also made a cameo appearance in the short films accompanying the new Sean Lennon album, Friendly Fire.

Her acting career includes films like 2 Fast 2 Furious, D.E.B.S., Sin City, Dead or Alive and War. She did not have her driver's license prior to filming 2 Fast 2 Furious and had to learn to drive during filming. Aoki got a part in a film called The Mutant Chronicles, directed by Simon Hunter and starring Thomas Jane, John Malkovich, Ron Perlman and others, will reportedly be released in 2008. The story is set 400 years into the future (23rd or 24th century). The movie is described as a futuristic Saving Private Ryan set in a world where nearly everything is powered by steam.

She has joined L.A.'s International Creative Management for representation and The Firm for management (which manages the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Adrien Brody). Aoki plans on launching her own clothing line, and has signed on to New York entrepreneur Richie Akiva's record label, where she will cut her own album.

In May 2007, Aoki posed for photographer Marc Baptiste’s book Nudes, however she has stated that she was wearing a dress.

It's funny. People have been saying that, and I saw the book. I'm the only person in the book who is wearing clothes. I'm wearing a dress. I'm like 'why am I in this book?' because it's nudes and I'm not nude at all. I'm wearing a dress. I don't think I knew it was for a nude book, because I was wearing clothes and that doesn't work with the whole concept. I had shot with that photographer and he probably wanted to use the pictures and I'm sure my management OK'd the pictures because I was clothed, so that is not actually true.

She has appeared in many magazine covers , books and articles. Aoki has appeared in The Cobrasnake website's party photos among other celebrities.

In September 2007, it was announced she was designing jeans line for Levi's. "One of the coolest designs is an adjustable zip waist you can tighten with an elegant clasp closure," she told to reporters.

Aoki lives on her own, and keeps her personal life private. But she is often seen alongside major hip-hop and Hollywood men at high-profile social functions and movie premieres. She used to date Lenny Kravitz and Rick Salomon (also known from Paris Hilton's sex tape).

Her image has been part of innumerable advertising campaigns, and recently she began to sing Mexican regional music, recording her first disc in Los Angeles, California.

In 2005, Dorismar posed in provocative posters distributed in Mexico aimed at protecting endangered sea turtles from people who believe their eggs are a source of virility, proclaiming "My man does not need turtle eggs because he knows that they don't make him more potent," and ""Sea turtle eggs DO NOT increase sexual potency!" These advertisements drew some derision from women's rights groups, and several environmental groups refused to be associated with the campaign.

In 2006, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security abruptly deported in handcuffs, Dorismar and her husband/manager Alejandro (Alex) Schiff to Argentina, asserting that she was an illegal alien in the United States. Daniella Cicarelli

Daniella Cicarelli
Daniella Cicarelli Biography

Daniela Cicarelli Lemos (born November 6, 1978, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil) is a TV show hostess for MTV Brasil and also a fashion model.

Daniela Cicarelli has been a model since age 12 and won the Elite national competition at 14. She attracted attention in Brazil in early 2001 due to a Pepsi TV commercial and became very well known. In 2002 she was already as popular in Brazil as Gisele Bundchen and had several commercial deals. In 2003 she began hosting a summer show for MTV Brasil, working in other shows on that channel since then. That year, Cicarelli started dating football player Ronaldo. This made her widely known in Spain leading her to command fees ten times higher for appearing at fashion events. In 2003, she signed with MTV to present shows on the channel, including one about makeovers. In 2003, Fica Comigo, a dating show which was MTV Brasil most popular show (and made Fernanda Lima, the host, famous), was canceled because Fernanda didn't want to renew her contract with the channel. So in 2004 MTV started producing another dating show, Beija Sapo (Kissing Frogs) and Daniela was chosen to host. The show soon became the channel's most popular show and even with Daniela's ups-and-downs, it's still the highest-rated show on the channel.

After getting engaged in 2004, Cicarelli and Ronaldo planned on marrying at the Château de Chantilly on February 14, 2005. At the party Cicarelli expelled Brazilian model Caroline Bittencourt from the place. The episode was reported in the French and Brazilian media. Months later Cicarelli suffered a miscarriage. On May 12, 2005 the couple announced they had separated. The couple's breakup after 86 days of "marriage" was featured on the covers of many tabloids and magazines.

MTV's response was quick (after receiving more than eighty thousand e-mails protesting), with a note on its website as well as regular institutional inserts on its programming, claiming that while supporting the users' manifest, it refused to acknowledge the validity of the effort, claiming it as unreasonable as the original censorship. Also, it claimed the censorship from the decision wasn't from Cicarelli, but from her boyfriend instead, going even further, stating that MTV nor Cicarelli ever prosecuted any website for any reason.

Later research from Conjur, a legal website denied these claims, which Cicarelli also failed to acknowledge on separate interviews on Jornal da Globo (TV) and Folha de São Paulo] (Newspaper). MTV stopped its institutional message on TV, and shortly after removed their original note from the website.

A parody of the video was made by the Pânico na TV, a controversial Brazilian nationwide broadcasted program by Rede TV!. Also the health secretary of the state of Rio Grande do Sul has made a parody with the goal of educate about the dengue fever, a virus which can by hosted by the Aedes aegypti, a mosquito specie found at the state, but yet not infected in that state. The agency's claims that they want to take advantage of the viral marketing.

In June 2007, a Brazilian judge dismissed Cicarelli's claims, indicating that as the sex took place in public, Cicarelli had no expectation of privacy and so acted in bad faith in trying to get the video removed as an invasion of her privacy. The model was ordered to pay court costs and legal costs and R$10,000 to each defendant.

As of October 29, 2007, Hantuchová ranks at No. 9 in singles. She has twice topped the ACE tennis magazine's Hot List of the world's sexiest tennis players.

Defending a title for the first time in her career, Hantuchová made it to the fourth round in Indian Wells, losing to Amanda Coetzer 6-4 6-4. Despite a first round loss to Alicia Molik in Miami, Hantuchová rebounded in the Tier I Charleston event, making her fifth quarterfinal in seven events, losing to Ashley Harkleroad 6-2 6-1. She made her sixth quarterfinal at her next event in Amelia Island, losing to eventual champion Dementieva 6-0 6-1.

Daniela Hantuchova had a successful US Open series run, where she reached the semifinals in Cincinnati, getting upset by No. 74 Akiko Morigami 6-4 6-4. After Cincinnati, in Stanford, Hantuchová lost to Clijsters in the quarterfinals 6-3 6-1. And after a second round loss in San Diego to Sugiyama, Hantuchová reached her fourth final in Los Angeles, getting a walkover in the quarterfinals over Sharapova, and got revenge against Dementieva in the semifinals, defeating her 6-3 6-4 (Hantuchová stands 2-0 against Dementieva in semifinals). In the final, for the seventh time in their head-to-head, Clijsters defeated Hantuchová 6-4 6-1. For the third time at the event, Hantuchová made the quarterfinals in New Haven, losing to Davenport 6-2 7-6(5).

Despite disappointing results in the warm-up tournaments she equalled her Australian Open performance by getting to the fourth round of both the French Open and Wimbledon before extending her 2006 Fed Cup record to 6-0 by winning both her singles matches in Slovakia's 5-0 rout of Thailand, which ensured their promotion to the World Group II. Her fourth-round streak at Grand Slams ended when she was beaten by a resurgent Serena Williams at the second round of the US Open, which was the culmination of a very disappointing American hard court season (her record was 7-6 including the US Open, failing to get past the last 16 of any of the tournaments she entered).Daniela Hantuchová at the Zurich Open 2006.

Daniela Hantuchova finished the year ranked 17th in the world with a 34-25 record. She went 24-17 on hard courts, 5-4 on clay, 3-2 on grass and 2-2 on carpet. She was 4-6 against top 10 players beating Schnyder (twice), Safina and Kuznetsova, with losses to Sharapova (twice), Clijsters, Henin-Hardenne, Dementieva and Nadia Petrova.

In her seventh event of the year Hantuchová won just her second title at the same tournament she had won five years prior in Indian Wells, California. She defeated Kaia Kanepi 6-1 2-6 6-2, Francesca Schiavone 6-2 7-6(3), Martina Hingis 6-4 6-3, Shahar Peer 6-2 5-7 7-6(5), Li Na 7-5 4-6 6-1 and Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3 6-4.

She lost to Kuznetsova in the semifinal 6-4 6-2. At the French Open she exited in the third round losing to Anabel Medina Garrigues 4-6 7-6(2) 7-5.

At the U.S. Open Hantuchová crashed out to Ukraine's Julia Vakulenko in the first round in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. It was Hantuchová's earliest loss at the U.S. Open since her debut in 2001, and her earliest loss at a Grand Slam since the 2004French Open . Daniela bounced back from that disappointment the next week by getting to her second final of the year at the Tier III tournament in Bali where she lost to Lindsay Davenport 6-4 3-6 6-2. The following week in Kolkata she got to the semifinals, losing to Maria Kirilenko 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Hantuchová's biggest successes have so far come in mixed doubles. In this event, she won the 2001 Wimbledon championships with Leoš Friedl, the 2002 Australian Open with Kevin Ullyett, the 2005French Open with Fabrice Santoro, and 2005 U.S. Open with Mahesh Bhupathi. At the 2005 U.S. Open she completed a career mixed doubles Grand Slam with Mahesh Bhupathi when they beat Katarina Srebotnik and Nenad Zimonjić in the final in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. This makes her only the 5th women in tennis history (after Hart, Court, King andNavratilova) to complete a career Grand Slam in mixed doubles. In Perth, Western Australia also in 2005, Hantuchová won the Hopman Cup with Dominik Hrbatý.

Cited by popular media as one of the world’s most beautiful women, Dana is often compared to the likes of Angelina Jolie.

Dana began her career in fitness in 2000, gracing the covers of the world’s top fitness magazines including: Muscle & Fitness, Muscular Development, MuscleMag International, Italian Fitness, Olympians Fitness, Pump, Planet Muscle, Fitness Rx, Oxygen, and Ultimate Athlete. Dana brought a whole new light to fitness, because she was fitness model with mega curves and soft sex appeal. She opened doors for other models that preferred to portray an ultra-feminine version of “health”. Dana’s dangerous curves and exotic face earned her numerous layouts of up to over 32-pages! She has been featured in more individual magazine pictorials than any other fitness or pinup model alive.

Not only did Dana break the mold in fitness, she has successfully gone mainstream appearing in mainstream magazines and working as an aspiring actress. Dana was named as the official swimsuit cover girl for the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. She also hosted the ESPN Canadian Strength Series as well as appeared on the runway in South Beach as a top model for Bebe, Becca, BluePoint, and Lucky Brand Jeans.
Another strange, but interesting thing happened to the up-and-coming model. An employee from MGA Entertainment Corporation alerted Dana’s manager to the fact that Dana’s likeness was being used to create the infamous Bratz Doll. In fact, while researching the matter they discovered there was actually a doll in the Bratz Doll collection named “Dana”. The facial likeness is staggering and even the dolls clothes are very similar to outfits Dana has worn in photo shoots. Adding to her growing list of accomplishments Dana launched her own product line of posters and calendars, which are currently sold in over 3,000 retail stores nationwide: Spencer Gifts, BMG Sony, Calendar Club, Sam Goody, Tower Records, and more.
Dana has taken her acting career so seriously that she applied and was accepted to the prestigious Strasberg Theatre Institute in NYC where a-listers like Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, and Claire Danes also attended acting classes.

A native of North Carolina, Dana Hamm was born to an entrepreneur father and beauty queen mother, on August 31st. During her childhood, Hamm attended private school and was quite a tomboy at heart. She loved to fish, freestyle on her BMX bike, and horseback ride rather than sit inside watching television. Around age 16 Hamm matured into a striking young woman and excelled in high school, receiving top grades in fine arts, English and science. After graduating from high school, she attended college and earned her bachelors degree in Psychiatric Social Work. During college, Hamm became hooked on fitness training and devoted as much time to working out as she did to her schoolwork. She decided to put her good looks to work and aimed to start modeling. However, Dana wisely decided not to go through modeling agencies like Ford or Next. Instead she appeared on a popular talk (Jenny Jones) as one of America’s fresh new faces. This television appearance helped her to gain notoriety and establish herself as a model. After the show aired Dana received a slew of inquiries and interests…everything from offers to become Playboy Playmate to appearances in movies such as “The Scorpion King” with The Rock.

Dana Hamm quickly used her business savvy and struck-up a partnership with one of America’s top glamour photographers and they did it all themselves. The team marketed Dana directly to companies and magazines in search of fresh talent. Today Dana’s team is creating more buzz than ever with magazines, movies, products, appearances, and more.

Cybill Shepherd

Cybill Shepherd Wallpaper
Cybill Shepherd Biography

Cybill Lynne Shepherd (born 18 February 1950) is a Golden Globe Award-winning American actress, singer, and former fashion model.
Her best known roles include starring as Jacy in The Last Picture Show, Maddie Hayes in Moonlighting, as Cybill Sheridan in Cybill, as Betsy in Taxi Driver and as Phyllis Kroll in The L Word.

Shepherd was born in Memphis, Tennessee to William Jennings Shepherd and Patty Shobe. Named after her grandfather Cy and her father Bill, Shepherd won the 1966 "Miss Memphis" contest at age 16, resulting in fashion modeling work through high school and after.

She quickly made a name for herself as a curvy 'real woman', which was a departure from the trend at the time of Twiggy-type waifs. This led to regular work as amagazine cover girl, and it was a 1970 Glamour magazine cover that caught the eye of film director Peter Bogdanovich. Upon seeing the cover in a supermarket check-out line, Bogdanovich was reported to have said "That's Jacy", referring to the role he was casting - and ultimately offered to Shepherd - inThe Last Picture Show (1971). Her role as the sexual ingenue would prove to be one of the most explosive and promising debuts of any film actress.

During the filming, the then 21-year-old was required to film a nude scene in a pool. Still photos obtained from that nude scene appeared in Playboy magazine without Shepherd's consent. She sued and ultimately she and Playboy reached an out-of-court settlement, setting a precedent regarding public figures.

After a series of less successful roles, including The Lady Vanishes, the remake of Hitchcock's 1938 movie of the same name, she dropped out of show business from 1978 to 1982.

Back from Memphis, Shepherd won the role of Colleen Champion in the night-time drama The Yellow Rose (1983), opposite Sam Elliott. Although critically acclaimed, the series lasted only one season.

A year later, Shepherd was cast as Maddie Hayes in ABC's Moonlighting (1985-1989), which became the role that would define her career. The producers knew that her role depended on having chemistry with her co-star, and she was involved in the selection of Bruce Willis. They quickly became one of the most celebrated television duos. A lighthearted combination of mystery and comedy, the series won Shepherd twoGolden Globe awards.

In 1997, she won her third Golden Globe award, for CBS' Cybill (1995-1998), a television sitcom, in which the title character - Cybill Sheridan, an actress struggling with hammy parts in B movies and bad soaps - was loosely modeled on herself (including portrayals of her two ex-husbands). As she had on Moonlighting, she was involved in casting another unknown co-star (Christine Baranski) who proved to be an asset to the show's popularity.

In 2000, Cybill Shepherd's bestselling autobiography was published, titled Cybill Disobedience: How I Survived Beauty Pageants, Elvis, Sex, Bruce Willis, Lies, Marriage, Motherhood, Hollywood, and the Irrepressible Urge to Say What I Think, written in collaboration with Aimee Lee Ball.

From 2006, Shepherd has been appearing on the Showtime drama, The L Word as the character Phyllis Kroll. She helped get her real-life daughter Clementine Ford the role of her on screen daughter.

Although Shepherd has not admitted to bisexuality, she has revealed her sexual curiosity and desire in various interviews about having a physical relationship with a woman.

In 2006, in an interview about The L Word she said more than once that she was "turned on" by the woman-woman sex scenes :
Cybill Shepherd has described her beliefs regarding Religion thus:“I guess you could describe me as a goddess-worshipping Christian Pagan Buddhist.”

She agreed to a date with actor Jack Nicholson to make Peter Bogdanovich jealous. Later, she canceled the date and Nicholson would not speak to her again, except to say "hi" at a party many years later.

She did not like working with Charles Grodin on The Heartbreak Kid (1972), and that it took her several years to like him enough to have a one night stand with him.

Robert De Niro asked her out during the filming of Taxi Driver (1976). She turned him down, and he did not speak to her, except in character, for the rest of the filming.

She had a sexual encounter with her co-star Don Johnson that lasted several intense minutes during the making of the television miniseries The Long Hot Summer (1985).

The jazz musician Stan Getz came on to her during a recording session for her album, but she declined and he did not speak to her.

In her autobiography, Shepherd addressed rumors that she was jealous of her co-stars Bruce Willis and Christine Baranski for winning Emmy awards while she has not: "The grain of truth is this: Who doesn't want to win an Emmy ?"

Unsuccessful nominations were :
- 1997 - Best Actress in a TV series, Comedy/Musical - Cybill
- 1988 - Best Actress in a TV series, Comedy/Musical - Moonlighting
- 1972 - Most Promising Newcomer (Female) - The Last Picture Show

Claudia Schiffer

Claudia Schiffer Wallpapers
Claudia Schiffer Biography

Date of Birth: August 25, 1970
Claudia Schiffer is a spokeswoman for breast cancer and a volunteer for UNICEF, but easily best known for her supermodel status. Besides countless magazine covers she can be seen on the big screen in "Richie Rich" (1994), "Friends & Lovers" (1999) and "Life Without Dick" (2001).Claudia Schiffer was born in Rheinberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which is a small town just outside Düsseldorf. She was born to Gudrun Schiffer and her lawyer father Heinz Schiffer. She has two brothers, Stefan and Andreas, and one sister called Ann Carolin.

During her school life, Schiffer commented that she was quite popular but felt socially overshadowed by the other girls in her year, who all acted like stars and were very dominant. She has revealed that because she was so tall, she became very shy and did not want to be noticed. She was also subjected to jealousy by others as she came from a wealthy family that were well-known locally in the area. Schiffer became fluent in French and English as well as in her home language of German.

Claudia Schiffer originally wanted to become a lawyer and work in her father's law firm. She later dropped these aspirations when she was spotted in a nightclub in Düsseldorf by Michel Levaton in October 1987 at seventeen, the boss of Metropolitan Model Agency who signed her up to become a model.

After she was spotted as a potential model in a disco at the age of just seventeen, she completed her education by her mother's wishes and then began to work as a model. She flew out to Paris for a trial photo shoot and soon after she appeared in the cover of French ELLE after being well received in Paris. After several other magazine appearances she quickly achieved supermodel status when she was selected by Karl Lagerfeld to become the new face of Chanel. Schiffer continued to become a world-famous supermodel, becoming instantly recognizable with her blue eyes, blond hair and tall figure.

Claudia Schiffer has also been the face of Mango, a chain of Spanish clothes stores and Accessorize, where she had her ears pierced especially for her Autumn/Winter 2006 Accessorize advertising campaign in 2006. Schiffer still holds a contract with L'Oreal and Ebel watches, and her billboard picture for Kenar has also hung over millions of tourists at Time Square. Since 1990, she has created a swimsuit calendar each year which she stars in and designs herself.

Her career continued to develop when she secured contracts with Pepsi appearing in advertisements promoting the brand, and has also danced with a cartoon version of Mickey Mouse in advertisements promoting Fanta for an estimated $2 million. She appeared nude in a 1998 Citroën advertisement, securing her a reputed £3 million. However from behind the car only her feet and shoulders upward could be seen and she did not know how to drive at the time. KarlLagerfeld recently filmed her for a Dom Perignon campaign, some ten years after her first appearances in Chanel adverts.

Schiffer has appeared in a number of films and music videos. Her first appearance in film was in the children's movie Richie Rich in 1994 and then starred opposite Dennis Hopper and Matthew Modine in Blackout. She went on to appear in Friends & Lovers and Black and White in 1999, In Pursuit andLife Without Dick in 2001, and then Love Actually in a semi-cameo role. Schiffer has made several other cameo appearances in film which include, Ben Stiller's Zoolander in 2001. However, she never became as successful as an actress as she did by modelling.

As well as many film appearances, Schiffer has appeared on several chat and television shows such as Larry King Live, The Tonight Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Dharma & Greg and Arrested Development. She was also in boyband Westlife's music video of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl," as the iconic uptown girl and had a cameo in Bon Jovi's video "Thank You for Loving Me".

During her modelling career, she has also released four exercise videos, entitled Claudia Schiffer's Perfectly Fit, which were successful and reached the bestsellers list. Schiffer has hosted the French Fashion Awards and the World Music Awards in Monaco.

With fellow supermodels Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Elle Macpherson, Schiffer was joint owner of a chain of fashionable restaurants called the Fashion Café in 1995. Schiffer remains a prominent figure in German society and helped present and carry the trophy with Pele during opening ceremonies at the 2006 World Cup. She also presented Prince William with a polo trophy in 2002.

Claudia Schiffer was engaged to the magician David Copperfield for about six years until 1999. They first met at one of Copperfield's stage shows, where he invited her on stage to take part in his 'Flying' illusion, and he then subsequently sawed her in half during a joint appearance on German television. Following the end of her engagement to Copperfield, she met and had a relationship with Tim Jefferies.

Schiffer has had two significant problems with harassment in the past. In 2002, an Italian kitchen porter, known as Agostino Pomata, was arrested after making nine visits to Schiffer's £5 million Suffolk mansion near Bury St Edmunds, attempting to see her. Charges against Agostino Pomata were dropped however, as he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act. He had believed that the Pope had told him to marry Schiffer. Then later in 2004, Louis Brisette a Canadian man, was accused of harassing Schiffer, again at her mansion in Suffolk. He reportedly called at her mansion three times in total in the hope of seeing Schiffer. He also repeatedly left letters at her home.
