Alicia Machado Biography

Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo (born December 6, 1976), commonly known as Alicia Machado, was the fourth woman from Venezuela to win the Miss Universe crown. Machado was born in Maracay in the state of Aragua. She is the daughter of a Cuban father and Spanish mother.

Machado won Venezuela's 1995 pageant representing Yaracuy and then the Miss Universe 1996 crown in Las Vegas. The runner-up, Jacqueline Aguilera, also won the Miss World 1995 crown, marking the second time that Venezuela had held the two world titles simultaneously. Machado's reign came as Donald Trump took ownership of the Miss Universe pageant.

During her reign as Miss Universe, Machado made headlines when it was reported that she gained too much weight and the Miss Universe Organization was considering replacing her with her runner-up, Taryn Mansell of Aruba. In the end, Machado managed to shed some of the weight off and retained her title. Donald Trump, however, was less magnanimous. While calling in live on the Howard Stern radio show to promote the 1997 Miss Universe pageant, he called her an "eating machine".

During 2004–2005, she pursued a career as a TV commercial model with particular success in promoting a dieting product. She also became engaged to Venezuelan baseball player Bobby Abreu, then with the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2005, Machado appeared on a Spanish reality show called La Granja ("The Farm") and caused scandal when she was filmed having sex with another show participant. After the film and photos became public, Abreu broke off their engagement.

On February 19, 2006, Machado debuted on a Mexican reality show named Cantando Por Un Sueño ("Singing For A Dream") a program in the line of the previous Bailando Por Un Sueño ("Dancing For A Dream") in which the winner has the chance for a dream to come true. The show is very similar to Dancing with the Stars (U.S.) and Mira Quién Baila ("Look Who's Dancing") (Spain).

Machado appeared in (and on the cover of) the February 2006 issue of Playboy magazine's Mexican edition, thus becoming the first and only Miss Universe to pose nude for Playboy. She dedicated her photographs to Donald Trump. Later she posed nude for the American edition as well, appearing in its October 2007 issue (though not on the cover this time).

For 20th Century Fox Alejandra will be appearing in RENO 911 MIAMI with Danny Devito and scheduled for release in 2007.

Alejandra will appear as Amanda in the Latin Film GRANDPA Starring a who is who of Latin Super Stars such as Don Francisco, Fernando Arao, El General, Ruben Blades, Omar Alfano, Johnny Pacheco, Charitin, and soccer super star Maradona. This film will make history as the biggest Super Stars in the Latin World get together to raise money to help kids and elderly around the world.

Making a important appearance as Guest Star Alejandra will appear in the launching episode of the new hit sitcom; Happy Hour (FOX) 2006 *(THIS SHOW AIRS APROX SEPT 14, 2006)*, and has made appearances in such hit TV series as Nip Tuck (FOX) season finale in 2005, Entourage (HBO) 2005, Miami Slice which was her own reality show for Bravo in 2004 and it is now airing on Discovery Health, Al Filo de la Ley (Univision) 2004

Alejandra has appeared in many Independent Films such as 2004s Carlitas Secrets where she co-Starred along with Eva Longoria. With Lorenzo Lamas and Gary Busey in Latin Dragon, with Robert Lasardo in Never Down which won Best Director for a Documentary film in the NY Film Festival of 2006. Alejandra also appeared with Tony Sirico and Frank Vincent in the movie Smoking Stogies in 2001 winning the Best Comedy award at the Miami Film Festival of 2001.

Alejandra is working in the Documentary film “The Hollywood Dream” currently in production.

Alejandra is currently in production of a reality based show which follows Alejandra’s life showing her tours with the ALE G girls in exotic locations all over the world. The scheduled release is for October 2006.

Douglas Schwartz creator of Baywatch Directed a new project called "Casino Run" of which Alejandra is the main host for a DVD and Television Series. ALE G the clothing line will launch their summer collection in the spring of 2007.

Alejandra is currently in negotiations for various film projects that include. Harroween, an independent movie where she will appear as one of the Co-stars and begins production in November 2007. Alejandra is also in negotiations to Star in the movie Rich Mexicans to begin production in 2007.

As spoke-model Alejandra has been the image of many major brands such as Mc Donald’s, Visa (which won best commercial of the year 1997), AT&T, Chevrolet, Corona, Modelo beer, and is the current spoke-model for Monster Energy Drink among many others.

Past Projects:

Alejandra has hosted TV shows in Miami such as Miami Hoy (AT&T cable) 1999-2000 were she produced her own segments. Ay Caramba (Telemundo) 1999 co host with Roberto Angeleli for 1 year, she was also the spoke-model for el Gran Blablazo for 2 years on Univision Network on 2000-2001.

Alejandra had her big break internationally in 2001 when she was selected as the first spoke-model for Playboy TV Latin America traveling around the world, she visited more than 10 countries and appeared in the most important international TV shows and magazines In Latin America, Spain, France and Portugal. At this time Alejandra designs her own clothing line called Ale G.

In 2001 Alejandra began to produce her own music events and fashion shows, for Fashion TV and Playboy Swimwear, this shows went on tour to places like Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador etc.

Aída María Yéspica Jaime (pronounced [aˈiða maˈɾia ˈʝespika ˈxaime]), is a Venezuelan beauty queen born on July 15, 1982 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.

Aida Yespica's career began in the Venezuelan famous national pageant Miss Venezuela in 2002. As Miss Amazonas, she represented the state of Amazonas. The winner was Mariangel Ruiz but Yespica became a big favorite among the press. Her measurements 90-60-90 despite her average height (1.73m or 5'8") made her capture the attention of the press.

Aida Yespica Jaime moved to Milan, Italy to start her modeling career back in 2003. She has become a big star in the Italian entertainment business and has graced the covers of multiple magazines including GQ and Maxim. Aida appears regularly in Fashion TV and RAI doing photoshoots, fashion commercials or as a presenter.
